TOP TIPS TO GET THE MAXIMUM ENJOYMENT FROM THE 2018 PROMS ON THE PIER

  • Proms on the Pier will start at 7.15pm with an introduction to the event by BBC Radio Guernsey Breakfast Show presenter Oscar Pearson.  The concert by the GSO will commence at approximately 7.25pm

 

  • Seating for 500 will be provided on Albert Pier, in front of the Alidome Stage, on a first-come, first-served basis

 

  • RW Randall Ltd will operate a fully-licensed bar that will open at 6pm and close promptly at 11pm in accordance with the granted liquor licence

 

  • For those in search of tasty food, Proms on the Pier enthusiasts have a choice of either the Mobile Cobo Fish ‘n’ Chips or Chu’s Thai Spices

 

  • Music lovers and spectators are more than welcome to bring their own picnics but are asked to be responsible for their litter and to ensure that it is either taken away at the end of the evening or put it into correct recycling bins that will be located around Albert Pier.

 

  • The second half of “Last Night of the Proms” will be beamed live from the Royal Albert Hall in London at approximately 9pm and will finish by or just before 10.45pm

  • Last orders at the public bar will be at 10.45pm with service stopping at 11.00pm prompt.

        Hand-waving Union flags will be available to purchase before the broadcast of the second half of “Last Night of             the Proms” and cost £1.00 each

 

  • High tide on the evening of Saturday 8 September 2019 is at 6.30pm at 9.18 metres and there is every expectation that the Victoria Marina will be full with visiting and local yachts.

 

Don’t forget:

  • Proms on the Pier is free to attend (tickets do not need to be booked) due to the continued support and commitment of the Platinum sponsors Odey Wealth and RBC Wealth Management and Gold Sponsors FCG and the Guernsey Arts Commission

 

  • Parking on the Red Light Arm (Albert Pier) will be suspended from 06.00am on Friday 7 September 2018 and the whole of Albert Pier will have car parking suspended from 6pm on Friday 7 September 2018 through until 6am on Sunday 9 September 2018

 

  • Any cars left on Albert Pier during the car parking suspension time will be removed at a cost to the owner(s)

 

  • The Bus Terminus and CT Plus buses will operate their normal late evening ‘Night Owl’ services from the Bus Terminus

  • People wishing to attend Proms on the Pier are reminded to check the weather forecast leading up to and including the day itself and to dress accordingly.  Remember to bring outerwear for the later evening as temperatures in early September can get cool.

 

  • Dropping litter on the Albert Pier is socially irresponsible and all litter should be disposed of in the normal way either in general waste bins (blue and green) or in the recycling bins provided

For those wishing to use local bus transport to get home after the end of Proms on the Pier, the following CT Plus Night Owl services will be operational:

N2          for Grange top, Rohais, L’Aumone, Saumarez Park, Hougue du Pommier, Grandes Rocques, Cobo Bay,

                Vazon Bay, Gele Road & King’s Mills

                depart at 2200, 2300 & 0000

N3          for Fermain, St. Martin’s Village, Airport, Torteval, Pleinmont, L’Eree & Longfrie

                depart at 2145,  2300 & 0000
